Random failure period.
a)
Place the test items in a test chamber capable of maintaining 149 ± 2°F (65 ±
1.1°C), and connect the test items for the variety of input and output conditions
specified in step c) below, with sensors for input and output voltage and current.
b)
Set the chamber to 149 ± 2°F (65 ± 1.1°C), once the test temperature is
reached, allow the test items to stabilize for not less than four hours.
c)
Load the test items in a continual sequence as follows at the same test
conditions for a total of not less than four hours:

While at the same test conditions, allow the test items to rest at no-load
conditions for not less than two hours.

PACKAGING
Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as

specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When packaging of materiel is to be performed by DOD
or in-house contractor personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity
to ascertain requisite packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the
Inventory Control Point's packaging activities within the Military Service or Defense Agency, or
within the military service's system commands. Packaging data retrieval is available from the
managing Military Department's or Defense Agency's automated packaging files, CD-ROM
products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity.
