MIL-PRF-49080D
3.3
Design/construction.
The power supply shall be designed to obtain minimum
size and weight with maximum reliability consistent with the overall requirements. Design
techniques shall be used that provide stability under static and dynamic load conditions and
minimize Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). The functional requirements of the Power Supply
shall be as specified in this specification.
3.3.1
System configuration. The power supplies shall include the following cable
assemblies as part of the system configuration:
AC input cable
DC output cable Remote sensing cable connector
Power Supply

3.3.2
Dimensions. The envelope dimensions (chassis) of the Power Supply shall
conform to Drawing A3286985 to ensure the mounting requirements (for bench-mounted
capability) and the form and fit of the device. The physical dimensions of the Power Supply shall
not exceed the following:
Height
7.0 inches
Width
14.25 inches
Depth
14.50 inches
3.3.2.1
Cover. A cover shall be installed to protect the front panel from damage
during transit.
3.3.3
Cables.
3.3.3.1
AC cable. The AC Input Cable shall be capable of mating with the AC input
connector (see 3.3.4.2) and shall be the CX-11979()/U 15FT. The CX-11979()/U 15FT shall
conform to the dimensional requirements of Drawing SM-D-667917 to ensure proper interface
requirements and shall be 15 feet in length. Contacts A and B shall be line, contacts C and D
shall be neutral, and contact E shall be ground. This drawing is referenced for dimensional and
interface purposes only.
3.3.3.2
DC cable. The DC Output Cable shall be capable of mating with the DC input
connector (see 3.3.4.1) and shall be the CX-12342( )/U 3FT. The CX-11979( )/U 3FT shall
conform to the dimensional requirements of Drawing SM-D-667953 to ensure proper interface
requirements and shall be 3 feet in length. This drawing is referenced for dimensional and
interface purposes only.
3.3.3.3
Remote sensing cable connector. The PP-6224()/U shall include a connector
capable of mating with the DC output connector (front panel) with remote sensing capability
(see 3.3.4.4). The connector shall be suitable for use in fabrication at the field level of a remote
sensing cable.
